You may want to hand this step off to your child to dress it up. At the end of it all, this string will be about a 1/2 inch long between the two eyepieces. Tie knots at either end to secure the string in place. Now, take the smaller string and string it through the holes located at the lower end of the eyepiece. Cut the other string about 10 inches long. You’ll be cutting two different sizes of string. Step 7: Slip the String Through the Holes With your scissors, cut small slits on the top of your eyepieces and the lower opposite side that will sit by your nose. Then, roll the paper square over it making sure the edge of the paper lines up with the edge of the lens.Ĭut the excess paper off down to the shape of your eyepiece. Liberally spread glue all over the outside of the toilet paper roll of one of the eyepieces. These can easily be held down flat with tape.Ĭut the piece of paper in fourths but you can set two squares aside as you’ll only need two squares for the project. Either way, you’ll end up with these bubbly waves as shown in the photo below. This is where the transparent tape comes in handy. TIP: Covering the hole with the cellophane gets a little tricky. Repeat with the other eyepiece and piece of cellophane. Wrap the piece of cellophane around the hole and hold it until it starts to stick. Take one of the eyepieces and liberally spread glue around the end where your lens will go. Take your cellophane and cut out two squares or circles a little bigger than the hole of your shapes. Now that you have your two shapes cut out, it’s time to cut out the lenses. You’ll be able to draw out two on either end of the toilet paper roll.Ĭarefully cut the shapes out with your scissors. With your sharpie, draw out the shapes of your goggles on the toilet paper roll.
